How To Stay In Shape As A Writer

  1. Stop pretending that you need — or don’t need — special treatment.
  2. Accept your limitations: time and activity level.
  3. Acknowledge your physical needs, ie: muscle imbalances and postural distortion from the writing process. (It’s okay to hunch over the emotional intensity of the craft — just plan on what exercises are going to mitigate it!)
  4. Embrace the challenge. (Notice that I never said it was going to be easy to fix posture, and worse.)
  5. Write humorous Medium articles on writer-fitness to hold yourself accountable.

Step 5 is optional.

How do you stay fit during the craft? Genuine question!
